Our guide service includes full casting instruction where needed; guidance on reading water and locating fish; safe and effective wading know-how; help in understanding aquatic bugs; and introduction to "short line" nymphing techniques, as well as proper strategy for drifting dry flies.

Our guide fees: The fees set out below are for up to three persons; in other words, the full-day fee can be split between up to three anglers. The same applies to the half-day fee. If a fourth person is in the group, the full-day fee will increase by $50, and the half-day fee will increase by $25. What about the "G" word-i.e., "gratuity." Guides are naturally reluctant to bring this subject up-it's uncomfortable. So that there is no question, our policy is simple: we expect nothing, period. If you have enjoyed your day with us, and if you are so inclined, a common guideline is $20-25 per person. Enough said.

  • Half-day fee (4 1/2 hours) - $175
  • Full-day fee (9 hours, including lunch break) - $300

Equipment: If you don't have equipment, it can be made available. Waders could be a problem, but we have rods, reels, lines, wading staffs, and wading shoes for your use. On the rods and reels, while there is no charge we must have you sign a form that states that if the rod or reel does break, you will be responsible for the shipping and repair cost, which is normally small.

Flies: We supply all of the flies as part of the fee, unless you wish to use your own patterns.

Clothing: If inclement weather is forecast, you will need some warm layering and a good rain jacket. Most good rain jackets are made of breathable material such as Gore Tex. You will perspire even on cooler days, so a breathable jacket will help keep the cold at bay by wicking away moisture from the skin. For normal late spring and summer conditions, wear clothing that will dry quickly in case of an "unscheduled swim." Keep the colors muted-greens, tans, blues-and avoid reds and whites. Wear a hat-one that is muted-and be sure to have good polarized sun glasses.

Lunch: We will provide lunch with a full day trip. For half day trips, we will obtain a lunch for you if you wish, but you will need to reimburse us for the cost (usually nominal).
